Twenty-one participants (five female) drawn from federal AGP, the Ethiopian Agriculture Research Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources (MoNAR), as well as three CDSF specialists, took part in the training. Ato Tamrat Yohanese, Agriculture Mechanization Senior Expert
Tamrat Yohanese is an agriculture mechanization senior expert at the Mechanization Directorate of the MOANR. Tamrat has the following to say about the training.
“… I work as AGP coordinator In my department. AGP 2 has given due emphasis to mechanization in a bid to increase production and productivity using technology. As there was no mechanization department during AGP 1, we now needed to equip our staff with the necessary knowledge and skills. Some of the skills we needed were facilitation skill; the ability to effectively carry out needs assessment, task performance analysis, stakeholder analysis and the like. We are extremely glad to be equipped with all the skilled I mentioned within just four days of training.”
There is no doubt that we will be sharing the knowledge and skills we gained in this training with our colleagues back in our respective departments. It’s also heartening to learn that we will participate in another three modules which I hope will deal with contents as relevant to us as this first module.”

Jim Hamilton, CDSF Project Field Manager
At the closing of the training workshop, Jim Hamilton, CDSF Project Field Manager, encouraged participants to exercise the tools and techniques gained from the four-day MFDP training in their workplaces and their communities of practice.
